بلوز/Blues سبکی از موسیقی است که ریشه درآواهای مذهبی، آوازهای هنگام کار، فریادها و همخوانی های سیاه پوستان آمریکا و همچنین سختی ها و مشکلات آن ها دارد. واژهٔ بلوز یا درواقع بلو (blue) علاوه بر معنی “آبی” در انگلیسی، به معنی “حزن و اندوه” می باشد. علت اینکه این سبک به بلوز معروف شد این بود که پیشگامان این سبک، این موسیقی را غم آلود و شِکوه ‌آمیز اجرا می کردند.

ایالت های سیاه پوست نشین دلتای رود می سی سی پی، لوئیزیانا، جورجیا و آلاباما، خواستگاه اصلی سبک موسیقی بلوز می باشند. با استناد بر شواهد موجود، موسیقی بلوز حاصل درد و رنج سیاه پوستانی است که از آفریقا به آمریکا رفته بودند؛ برده هایی که در مزرعه ها به سختی کار می کردند و ناراحتی خود را با سر دادن ملودی های غمگین نشان می دادند. این سرودها از یک الگوی پرسش و پاسخ پیروی می کردند که در آن رهبر گروه چیزی را می خواند و سپس بقیه با تکرار یا پاسخ به او همراهی‌ اش می کردند. این نوع آوازها را “فریادهای مزرعه” می نامیدند.
حتی پس از انتشار منشور آزادی در سال ۱۸۶۳ و رهایی بردگان جنوب، آن ها سنت آوازخوانی خود را ادامه دادند.

به رسمیت شناختن سبک بلوز

در سال ۱۹۰۳ ویلیام کریستوفر هندی W.C.Handy که در آن زمان رهبر موسیقی جاز و ترانه سرای آمریکایی بود، در یک ایستگاه قطار در نزدیکی می سی سی پی نشسته و به خواب رفته بود که ناگهان با صدایی از خواب بیدار شد و مرد سیاه پوستی را مشاهده کرد که لبه چاقو سیم های گیتارش را به صدا در می آورد و آوازی بداهه درباره ی رفتنش به جنوب می خواند. او یک خط از شعرش را سه مرتبه و با آکورد‌های مختلف خواند و با گیتار به آن جواب داد. هندی اذعان داشت “این عجیب ترین و مرموز ترین چیزی بود که تا به آن روز شنیده است”.

پس از آن در سال ۱۹۱۲ و. سی. هندی که علاقمند به این سبک شده بود شروع به جمع آوری، تدوین و انتشار نت های موسیقی بلوز نمود. دو اثر Blues Memphis و Blues Louis.St در سال ۱۹۱۴ و در سبک دلتا بلوز منتشر شدند که با استقبال شدید مردم روبرو و باعث محبوبیت سبک دلتا بلوز در موسیقی آمریکا شد.

به این ترتیب بلوز تولد رسمی خویش را مدیون هَندی است.

ویژگی های سبک بلوز

  • آزادی عمل و بدیهه نوازی، بداهه خوانی، از خصوصیات اصلی و مهم این سبک میباشد.
  • پرسش و پاسخی بودنِ موزون ترانه و ساز در این سبک، یکی دیگر از خصوصیات سبک بلوز میباشد. (این عمل برای به وجد آمدن و اتحاد بیشتر کارگران در حین کار صورت میگرفت).
  • در بلوز موسیقی ریتم اهمیت زیادی دارد. در این سبک، هر بند ترانه معمولا سه خط دارد که خط اول و دوم غالبا تکراریست و به یک شکل خوانده میشود تا شنونده آمادهٔ‌ شنیدن خط سوم شود که ملودی آن متفاوت است.

  • ترانه هایی که در بلوز خوانده می شود معمولا دارای سه سطر و دوازده میزان است.
  • در ابتدا آکورد های اصلی برای سطر اول و چهار میزان اول نواخته می شود.
  • پس از آن چهار آکورد برای میزان های پنجم و ششم نواخته می شود و به دنبالش یک آکورد برای میزان های هفتم و هشتم نواخته می شود.
  • در سطر آخر، پنج آکورد برای میزان های نه و ده و سپس یک آکورد برای میزان های یازده و دوازده نواخته می شود.
  • شعر در موسیقی بلوز دارای سه سطر است.
  • سطر های اول و دوم یکسان هستند اما با آکوردهای مختلف، ولی سطر سوم متفاوت است. این فرم به “میزان دوازده بلوز” معروف است.

ساز های سبک بلوز

از سازهای اصلی بلوز میتوان به هارمونیکا (سازدهنی)، پیانو، ساکسیفون، ترومپت، درامز، گیتار، گیتار بیس، کنترباس و… اشاره نمود.

بلوز دارای بیش از 30 زیر مجموعه می باشد که از جمله آن ها می توان به آکوستیک بلوز، بلوز آفریقایی، بلوز راک، بلوز شوتر، بریتیش بلوز، بلوز کانادایی، شیکاگو بلوز، بلوز کلاسیک، کانتری بلوز، پانک بلوز، آر اند بی بلوز و… نام برد، که در اینجا به معرفی سه دسته مهم و تاثیرگذار آن ها میپردازیم :

شیکاگو بلوز – Chicago blues

این سبک به دنبال مهاجرت ساکنان عمدتا سیاه پوست از ایالت های جنوبی آمریکا به شهرهای صنعتی شمال آمریکا از جمله شیکاگو شکل گرفت و به موسیقی بومی بلوز شیکاگو شهرت یافت. ساز دهنی ، گیتار الکتریک از سازهای اصلی مورد استفاده در این سبک می باشد. در بخش هایی نیز درام یا پیانو و ساکسیفون نیز گنجانده میشود. هنرمندانی همچون مادی واترز، بادی گای، مجیک سام و اوتیس راش از برترین نوازندگان تاریخ آن هستند. سبک بلوز بریتیش، سال ها بعد، تحت تاثیر بلوز شیکاگو بنیانگذاری شد.

بریتیش  بلوز – Blues British

این سبک در اواخر 1950 از سبک مادر خود بلوز، مشتق شد و در دهه 1960 به اوج خود رسید. علاوه بر سازهای اصلی سبک کلاسیک بلوز، از گیتار الکتریک به طور چشمگیری در این سبک استفاده می شود. رولینگ استونز و انیمالز ازجمله گروه هایی است که در اجراهای خود، از این سبک نیز استفاده می کنند. از گیتاریست معروف، الکسیس کورنر، به عنوان پدر و بنیانگذار بریتیش بلوز یاد می کنند.

بلوز راک – Blues Rock

در این سبک، موسیقی راک با بداهه نوازی های بلوز در آمیخته می شود، گیتار الکتریک ، گیتار بیس، پیانو و درام کیت سازهایی هستند که در اجرای این سبک استفاده می شوند. شایان ذکر است گیتار در این سبک اوردرایو یا دیستوریزه یا دیستورشن می شود. رولینگ استونز از مشهورترین گروه های موسیقی است که به اجرای این سبک می پردازد.
